後山的移動翡翠 Walking Emerald

在2017年12月，有幸在後山遇到一位新朋友“綠翅金鳩”，雖然牠是香港廣泛分佈的雀鳥，但感覺生性“孤僻”，“不食人間煙火”，喜歡與樹林為伴，過着隱居生活。
由片中所見，牠的步伐和姿態與常見的白鴿或斑鳩無異，唯一不同的是那雙泛着金屬光澤的綠色翅膀，還有醒目的白色眉紋。清朝有不少古典描述台灣的“鳩”，其中《諸羅縣志》寫道 “金鳩身綠，嘴足紅...一名金隹。” 另外，在台語中綠翅金鳩又叫“林骹鳥”，大概是因為經常在林下覓食。
牠的屬名Chalcophaps也可以拆為Chalco（希臘語khalkos，青銅）和phaps（pigeon，鴿），不如叫“青銅聖鬥鴿”吧！哈~

In the late Dec 2017, fortunately I met the new friend "Common Emerald Dove" in the backyard. Although the bird is widely distributed in Hong Kong, it stays far away from the urban area and likes to live in the woodland.
As the same family members, the Common Emerald Dove looks quite similar to the urban pigeons in shape and behavior. The green wings with metallic luster and the bright eyebrows are the unique characteristic. Such description can be also found in some Taiwan ancient books of Qing Dynasty.
The genus name Chalcophaps means "bronze-pigeon", which reminds me of "Bronze Saints" from the famous Japanese manga "Saint Seiya".
